[nvda] (ADMIN) Please stay on topic

Hi,
A lot of messages have been coming through that aren't really related to
NVDA. It is ok to post something that may be related or helpful to the
blind community like the open source and free "Web Anywhere." However,
if you post something like this please try to include enough information
so that it shouldn't require any responses. It appears to be a quite
useful project especially for computers with restricted access such as
public libraries etc.
The "Web Anywhere" post was a good one because it had a link that went
to the Web Anywhere site where all of the information could be found
about the project. However, please do not post feedback about it here,
I am sure they have, or will have soon, a mailing list of their own.
The Window-Eyes info was completely off topic and unnecessary. It is
not open source, nor free and it has several mail lists of its own.
Anyone wanting information about it or Jaws, or Hal, should visit the
vendor's site and join their mailing lists or read the info from their
site.
This is not taking a hostal stance against non-free software. With the
money they make from their sales though, they can afford to run their
own advertising campaigns.
the reason I say it is ok to announce open source projects here is the
simple fact that because most open source projects are free as well, the
advertising budget may be limited. So, I know that people need to be
able to find out about new things. Allowing open source software
announcements is our way of helping out, at least a little bit. Non
open source and nonfree software makers can use their earnings to get
the word out.
