This is concerning. I don't think I've ever seen this happen. At the very least, it should say "pane". What happens if you press NVDA+t and NVDA+tab in these cases?

You asked me to clarify what
information I need to be read and why. I can't give you specific
applications because there are a lot of them. Applications that have
text in there windows that denotes status information
Basically, if the text is accessible with object navigation, it might be able to be read automatically. If not, we can't do it at present. Also, a general idea of automatically reading such information is not anywhere near as simple as it seems. Every application is different. If we read every piece of text we encountered, you would be flooded with useless information, not to mention a hideous degradation in performance. I suspect you will find that different screen readers read different text automatically, but all of them probably differ in terms of which applications they do this with. In short, we probably need to support specific situations here to improve this; a general idea of automatically reading status text is just too vague.

I'd just like such information either read
automatically or ahve a way to get to it.
As noted above, if you can't get to the info with object navigation, accessing it is either impossible or requires display hooks.

I've put this out there
before, but is it possible to have a way to virtualize an application's
window and open a buffer so the user can arrow around it?
Maybe. It is again pretty complicated stuff and without display hooks, you won't get any more than you do at present; it might just be easier to find. In short, it's unfortunately not going to happen any time in the near future, but maybe we can implement something like this eventually.

Sorry I can't give more helpful responses on this one. :) As with many things, it is often much more complex than it seems.
