[nvda] Re: 0.6p doesn't read Outlook messages on my computer

NVDA has probably been using the old unsupported MSAA buffers for Internet Explorer when reading mail as html in Outlook and Outlook Express. These buffers are going to be completely rewritten at some point and in the past, it has been stated by NVDA developers that the old buffers work more poorly over time, being degraded by other changes made in NVDA. This may be such a case where a change has been made in NVDA that, though unintended, further degraded the buffer. Try using Internet Explorer and see if pages load into the buffer. If they don't, then you know the problem is that the buffer simply may not work at all now. If the page does load, then the problem is evidently something else.

Hi, I do read them in HTML format, but what is very interesting is that they read perfectly in 0.5. So, what changed since then would be the question I
would pose.

Hello Neal. In what format do you read the messages in outlook? NVDA
currently doesn't support html messages very well, and much better solution
is to read them in plaintext format.

Hi James, When I run the latest snapshot version here is what I get.

1. The same as before in terms of not being able to read either the
message
list or the messages themselves. This time, however, the subject of the
message is read when I open a message.

2. When I press NVDA F12, the time is read.

3. When I press NVDA Tab, I hear Inbox Microsoft outlook pane.

4. Once again, NVDA ceases to function altogether at some point until
I close outlook.

Jamie, Thanks for that. When I open outlook 2003, and try to read my
list of messages, I hear nothing as I arrow. I don't even hear the
word
blank.
Does NVDA speak at all with other commands such as NVDA+f12 to read
the time? If so, what does NVDA+tab report?

Would it be helpful if I ran the latest snapshot version?
Definitely. There have been some fixes in later snapshots which may
improve stability under certain circumstances.
