This is because wxpython, the toolkit that nvda uses for making buttons and
other graphical interface elements has a translation for Hindi, but has no
translation for Tamil.
We have the same problem for Arabic.
Do you and others feel that we should find and submit updates for
wxpython translations?
I dont know, does yes, no, ok, cancel show in english for other
languages (Finnish, Polish, Turkish)?

This is probably because we have a string
msgid "not %s"
and the word "checked" is substituted instead of %s.
for english it is ok, but it seems for Tamil it is not.
Do we have the same problem for Arabic, Finnish, Polish, Turkish?

I don't have any idea why this should happen, I don't have this problem
here when i switch to Tamil interface.
Maybe it is your synth?
Are you using espeak or some other synth?
Maybe ask on the dev list to see if anyone else has the same problem.
