Better check the specs on the required fluid. Dex IV is a whole new animal. 
Look 
in the manual for the DIN or Euro standard and be sure it matches the specs on 
the fluid you're using. You're probably OK if you haven't ruined any seals yet.

    Just as a reference, I replenish about an ounce of steering fluid (actually 
Dexron III or IV ATF) every few months on my Bimmer.
