[Neural Forecasting] History/Beginning of Neural Networks in forecasting

i am currently doing a final year college project in the area of Artificial 
Neural Networks and Forecasting.

Can anyone tell me or even better point me to some references about the history 
of Neural Networks in forecasting.
I would like to know things like when neural networks were first suggested as 
models and solutions for forecasting and 
when neural networks were first used in forecasting problems.
