Viruses Get Smarter

A virus writer known as Melhacker, suspected of writing the Bugbear virus,
claims to be working on a new virus, Scezda, to represent a new type of
threat. Scezda will allegedly be a megaworm, adopting elements of Nimda,
Code Red, and Klez. It will remain dormant on an infected system for a
randomly selected amount of time, then choose from a number of methods to
replicate itself. The most successful worms draw on a number of technology,
such as peer-to-peer. mass emails, and web server exploits. The intentions
of virus and worm writers are changing from data destruction to data theft.
