States Not Ready for Cyberattacks -- Report
A study conducted by Zeichner Risk Analysis to be released today concludes
that the security mandates envisioned in the Homeland Security Act could be
a tall order for many states that are already struggling to keep up with
previous requirements. For instance, Congress required state bank
regulators to institute cybersecurity rules more than a year ago, although
few have done so. Additionally, nearly half of state agencies have failed
to adopt cybersecurity policies and programs similar to their federal
counterparts.
