From: Michael Hutchison <mhutch@xxxxxxxxxxx>

The next installment of the TAPPED IN Social Studies forum features a
special topic AND a special time.

The March 12 installment will feature the recent PBS series "The
Perilous Fight:  America's World War II in Color".  The session is set
to begin at 8:30 p.m. Eastern (5:30 p.m. Pacific) time in TAPPED IN
(http://www.tappedin.org).

LEARNING BEGINS AT BIRTH
The author, June R. Oberlander, of the new 4th
edition of the early childhood developmental parenting
resource, SLOW AND STEADY GET ME READY,
answers preschool questions on the website below.
This inexpensive international best-selling book helps
maximize the intellectual growth of young children
(birth to age 5) to prevent them from being left behind.
It also helps children with special needs.

"The Perilous Fight" chronicles the United States in World War II from
the beginning to the surrender of the Japanese in 1945.  The series is
made up entirely of color movie film, there are no still images, no
reenactments, nor black and white footage in the series.

Joining us for this session will be Greg Palmer, who produced the third
program of' "Perilous Fight", along with Tim Olson and Drew Ringo of
KCTS, which produced the web site for the series.  The web site can be
found at http://www.pbs.org/perilousfight/.

As always, TAPPED IN help desk personnel will be on hand to assist new
users.  It's suggested that new users log in at least 10 minutes prior
to the start of the session for guidance.

Persons with questions about the forum, or wanting more information, are
welcome to e-mail Michael Hutchison offlist.

Sincerely,

Michael Hutchison
