************************************************************** Net Happenings - From Educational CyberPlayGround ************************************************************** Heads Up!, an Internet project developed by Windsor Public Schools runs from March 24-April 4. It is designed to develop the understanding of mathematical probability (equally likely outcomes) by collecting a large amount of data via the Internet. On Monday, March 31, 2003 students from around the world will flip a U.S. penny 100 times to see that the theoretical probability and the experimental probability may be different. By combining all the data and having a very large number of flips, students will then find that the probability predicts the behavior of random samples over the long run. We welcome you to join us. Although designed for Windsor's Grade 5 students, classrooms at any level may participate as teacher's may adapt the supporting materials to meet the needs of their students. The project is open to all interested classes.
