INTEGRATE FOLKLORE, MUSIC, & TRADITIONAL CULTURE
Folk music - sung during the days before there was a music
industry when the role of music was about your life -
about the life and times that most of us don't experience
anymore and when the music was sung because it helped
people through it and sustained them.

ORAL HISTORY RESEARCH IN THE NORDIC-BALTIC AREA -WebCT, University of
Tartu
During the last few years ethnologists, folklorists and historians from
the Baltic and Nordic countries interested in oral history research have
discussed the idea of establishing a network of some kind and finding
new ways for co-operation. Now this has been made possible by
researchers from the University of Tartu, Estonia, who have in November
2004 established The Oral history research in the Nordic-Baltic area
-WebCT: http://webct.e-uni.ee/public/TUOHaLHRitNBA/index.html
The Oral history research in the Nordic-Baltic area -WebCT is an online
environment, which provides a forum to present oral history studies and
current happenings, to discuss and debate on theoretical and
methodological issues, to create and develop co-operation etc. Though
the WebCT was established by ethnologists and folklorists, it is open
for all researchers interested in oral history research.
The Oral history research in the Nordic-Baltic area -WebCT is not a
public site, but anyone interested may register by contacting Lehti
Pilt, who will give you a WebCT ID and password.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact associate
professor Tiiu Jaago or researcher Anne Heimo.
