Greetings All,

It has been a very long time between NetHappenings posts and I sincerely 
apologize. Sadly, NetHappenings has been down because of a terrible botnet 
problem, and there was no way to tell you about it until now. This single post 
today will help me learn if it is really fixed or not.

BUT This isn't the end of NetHappenings.

Delivering NetHappenings in an email format for the past 20 years, is really 
long enough. It is time to move along and take advantage of other technologies 
that exist that makes things easier for me. Email Formatting problems and email 
client problems take me too much time to reformat which is why I started 
putting NetHappenings on the blog.

I will still deliver NetHappenings to your personal email account to send out 
major announcements - like this one. Because  K-16 school email permission 
systems, spam, white lists, black lists, and Botnets are involved it is really 
necessary to make things less complicated for all of us.

If you aren't aware Twitter.com is website that everyone is using now. There is 
a certain joy in having to say what you need to say in 140 characters. It 
forces you to get to the point! I love that. Short and sweet. 

NetHappenings the first K-12 Email list in the world, the granddaddy of all 
lists started in 1989 and I refuse to just let it die.

To keep up and keep alive, we need to include more ways besides email, we need 
the blog and Twitter. 

Since using twitter is new this is how you start: You sign up. 
If you can't sign up from your school or business account then use a personal 
account from home.

YOU will see: "This person has protected their updates.
Click the little GREY BUTTON  that will automatically send me your request to 
join the NetHappenings twitter list

YOU  will now see
"Request sent. You've sent a request to follow this person. If your request is 
approved, you'll be able to view their updates."  

I will approve you.

As a member of NetHappenings you can also tweet your own comments, 
announcements, and questions to the list as well, but it is kept private from 
everybody on Twitter and out of search engines. I want to protect our pivacy. 
That is the reason I did this way.

Since we are all new  I'd like to protect us, and  make us uncomfortable while 
we are learning how to do this together.

NetHappenings Posts made to the blog and pointers to these posts will get

This is actually pretty exciting! we are all stepping into the future together 
and I believe our old friend, the real pioneer Gleason Sackmann, would be proud 
of us!!

So in the tradition of going forward, we will keep NetHappenings alive and 
better than before!!
