Thanksgiving Projects

At this time of year it?s easy to find reminders of fall, and
Thanksgiving is certainly a great time for decorating and
using vegetables to accent.


You can carve pumpkins again for fun, perhaps a
turkey pattern. You can place small squash and gourds
in attractive displays around the house. A broom and
corn stalks in the front yard show fall is here.


Of course, your child can make lots of turkey décor
by placing his hand flat, fingers spread out, and tracing
his hand. Make the thumb into a turkey head, and the
rest of the fingers are the tail. This can be cut out and
decorated so many ways and pasted up anywhere.


Tell your child some stories of the Pilgrims and their
trip to America, and the hardships they faced here. There
are a lot of lessons for us to learn from them, and I
suspect you will learn something new yourself.


Keep an almost constant warm pitcher of apple cider, with a
spice bag, brewing in the kitchen. It will emit a wonderful
scent and make visitors feel at home. Offer a drink to
anyone who drops by and you?re sure to impress.

Free Tip ? Untangling Long Hair


If you have a daughter with long hair, and it?s a real
challenge to comb it or brush it free of tangles, there
are tricks you can try:

=> keep the hair in a braid, so it has less chance to get tangled.

=> wash the hair at least every other day to keep it clean
      and force you to brush and untangle.

=> use a fairly stiff brush rather than a comb.

=> have the child watch an interesting TV show while
      brushing to pre-occupy her ? may avoid a fight.

=> use conditioner, and leave a small amount in so
      that the brush or comb will glide more easily.

scams or do the programs and products really work?


A. Some are legitimate, some are NOT. You will need to
determine that by your own reason. The get-rich-quick
schemes are generally not ?for real? ? the ones putting the
program together are usually the financial winners. The
Don Lapre program is bogus. The real estate programs
may work, if you put your sweat into it. The ?cash-flow?
industry is a rip-off ? you pay so much for a ?course? that
does not teach you how to do the business, and although
you get a book of contacts, most people doing this
program are absolutely incompetent ? I have heard so many
complaints from clients who have tried to do business with
them. Products ? if it solves a need, it might be worthwhile,
but make sure the price is within reason. Make sure if you
call in an order ? to NOT accept a recurring charge or
subscription of any sort. One program charged people month
after month when they bought the system. Keep an eye on
your bank or credit card account if you buy something. And
always make sure there is a money back guarantee, or run!

A little boy opened the big family bible.  He was fascinated
as he fingered through the old pages.  Suddenly, something
fell out of the Bible.  He picked up the object and looked at it.
