Hello,

"Raptors in the City" is an environmental education and technology program that
follows the nesting season of the peregrine falcon - fastest creature on earth
that escaped extinction and now soars among the skyscrapers in cities across
North America. Since February, classrooms and falcon fans across the continent
have been watching one falcon couple at our study nestsite on a skyscraper in
Cleveland, Ohio. The children watch and study the nestsite in real-time online
via a live "FalconCam" that shows the falcon parents incubating eggs, the
hatching of the chicks, and the growth of the chicks until they fly.

The "Falcon Flash" e-newsletter is sent to classrooms during nesting season
(roughly February - June) and provides expert commentary and pictures. Our
e-newsletter and website are free, and curriculum materials are available at
low cost. The curriculum (grades 4-6) supports one semester of study, and the
students learn environmental, biological, and technological lessons, as well as
research skills, tied to national science and technology standards. It's easy
- no software to install. This season a new "Kids' Falcon Forum" has been
added to the website. It is a safe, moderated bulletin board for kids to "ask
the experts" questions and discuss falcons with other kids across the country.

We are a non-profit program and our goal is to connect children with nature via
technology, and to encourage children to commit to the future of all
species. If you would like to receive the free "Falcon Flash" e-newsletter,
please respond to this e-mail with "subscribe" in the subject heading (watch
the chicks grow and learn to fly by June!).

Because of our concern for the environment, we try not to send information to
schools on paper, thus the occasional e-messages you have received.
