Ask the Answer Worm http://www.nhq.nrcs.usda.gov/CCS/squirm/skworm.html
This cute site for younger students deals with dirt (ok, officially it's
called soil). What could be better! Start with the simple questions (Is
soil made by magic?) and work up to the tougher ones (What is soil
conservation?).Grade Level: Early Childhood, Elementary
Switcheroo Zoo http://www.switcheroozoo.com/default.htm
Create new and exciting animals using Flash technology and your browser.
Learn some basic animal facts then let the fur fly. Students can morph
new pets, or use the legs, tail and head of animals to generate
discussions of genetic engineering. Lesson plans are available for
language arts and science.

Bembo's Zoo http://www.bemboszoo.com/
A flashy site (Flash plugin required) for artists and creative thinkers
to just sit back and watch. Turn your high school computer lab students
loose trying to figure out how they did it. Beginning animators may get
some wonderful ideas, all surrounding the basic alphabet.
Ms. Lee's Kindergarten Experiments with Science
Six simple experiments that you can do with young students are just
waiting for you on this page. Even better, there are photographs
demonstrating different stages of the experiments.

My First Garden
http://www.urbanext.uiuc.edu/firstgarden/fundamentals/startplant.html
This garden site deals with the planning of the garden, such as where it
will be placed, what will be planted, and when planting will happen. One
great area for younger students deals with students using parts of their
body to measure the depth of plantings, or the distance between
plantings. There is a great area where students can look at pictures of
things to plant and get pertinent information.

Kindergarten Web Page for Letters and Sounds
http://westcler.org/wv/geigerj/
Use the letter links to find activities, songs and stories for each
letter of the alphabet. The design of this hotlist makes it easy to navigate.

Virtual Alphabet
http://www2.minot.k12.nd.us/classrooms/madden/virtual_alphabet.htm
Teachers can use this site to review the alphabet with their students.
Each letter has an animal character associated with it, an original song
with a familiar melody, and links to other pages about that animal.
Check out the letter x with Felix Fox.

Learning Planet http://www.learningplanet.com
A website containing very appropriate activities for letter and number
skill building for grades K-1; simple to use. Click on a letter to see a
picture of an object that starts with that letter and hear how that
letter sounds. Or drill letter sequencing or counting skills. These same
activities can be done with software, but sometimes the students have
run through available software and want to try something new. This type
of site can be called "drill and kill," but kids eat this stuff up.

Sesame Street Central http://www.ctw.org/sesame/
This Children's Television Workshop site has games, stories, coloring
pagesand activities you can print, and more. The site includes advertising.

Idea Box http://www.theideabox.com/
Dedicated to the education of young children, this site has ideas,
articles, projects, seasonal themes, and printable pages. The site
includes active message boards for parents and teachers.

KidsPsych http://www.kidspsych.org/index1.html
Highly interactive, this colorful site features online puzzles and games
parents and children can play together. The games are designed to help
children with thinking skills, deductive reasoning, and also just to
have some fun! Each game has information about its objectives to help
parents understand more about their child's development. (Note:
Shockwave is necessary to access site.)

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood http://pbskids.org/rogers/
Mister Rogers' Web site includes articles for parents, activities for
kids, and a booklist of stories that correlate with the television
program's themes. A "sing-a-long" section provides lyrics for the songs
on the television show. "Won't You Be My Neighbor?"

KinderGarden http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/kindergarden/kinder.htm
Gardens "teach children not only about plants, nature, and the outdoors,
but other subjects as well." This site includes school garden themes,
things to consider before you create a garden, a step-by-step guide,
curriculum ideas, and more. Part of the Aggie Horticulture site
developed by the Texas Agricultural Extension Agency.
