Join the Webheads community of TESOL/ESL/EFL/ELL teachers and students
on Saturday for Writing for Webheads and Sunday for Webheads in Action.
Tuesday's schedule includes Jen Wagner's Tech Leaders Roundtable and
Fred Steinbroner's Group Learning Methods. A busy Wednesday includes
Donna Hendry's Language Arts-Fan Fiction, Lesley Farmer's Targeting
Librarians- Visual Literacy and Technology, and Kevan Nitzberg's
ArtsConnected. Thursday is the-fasten-your-seatbelt tour of the LOC
Learning Page with Leni Donlan discussing "Her Story." Special guest,
Nancy Willard presents Cyber Bullying on Thursday and the
Alternative/Correctional Ed Forum will review the resources for Arts in
Corrections. Tours of the many new features of Tapped In are scheduled
for a variety of time zones on most Tuesdays and Saturdays.

After School Online (ASO) is a forum for educators. The scheduled
events, designed for professional development, are open to everyone in
the Tapped In community and all guests.  All Calendar events will be

* Tapped In Tips and Tricks

Join one of the Tapped In HelpDesk volunteers to learn about the
fabulous features of TI2. This tour and Q&A session will start in the
Reception room of the Tapped In system.

* TechLeaders Round Table

Jen Wagner invites you to join with other Tech Leaders in the On Tap
Cafe to brainstorm together on different issues.

* Group Learning Methods
5:00-6:00pm PST
Join Fred Steinbroner in the ASO for a discussion about his 'work in
progress.' Fred has begun to develop a website that will include
additional resources for group and cooperative learning. See Fred's new

Wednesday, March 17
* Targeting Librarians! ­ Visual Literacy and Technology
4:30-6:00pm PST
Dr. Lesley Farmer, facilitator of this discussion, coordinates the
Library Media Teacher Services Credential Program at California State
University. All that glitters is not gold, beauty is in the eye of the
beholder, you can't judge a book by its cover, one man's garbage is
another man's art: Visual Literacy is the art of constructing meaning
from visual input. Join Lesley in the Hot Tub Conference Room for a
discussion on Visual Literacy and Technology.

* Language Arts Forum - Fan Fiction
5:00-6:00pm PST
Join Donna Hendry in the ASO for her always fun and interesting Language
Arts Forum. Fan Fiction in the adult world has grown by leaps and
bounds. Teachers can use this in their students' writing. Use settings
or characters that are already in place to help them work on other
parts, such as sequencing or details.

* ArtsConnected Workshop - Art Across the Curriculum
4:00-5:30pm PST
This workshop utilizes both easy to understand computer technology and
the free resources of Art Collector and Artists Toolkit from the
Minneapolis Institute of Art and the Walker Art Center, to provide
teachers with additional educational tools for student skill development
and improvement. The material being presented has application for both
interdisciplinary learning and easily implemented standard assessment

Thursday, March 18
* SPECIAL! Cyber Bullying
4pm PST
Special guest speaker Nancy Willard will focus on How Schools can
respond to Cyber Bullying. This will address the harmful ways students
are using Internet and other mobile technologies to disseminate speech
that is harmful to other students or teachers. There are free speech
limitations on school administrators when seeking to respond to this
kind of speech, notwithstanding the potential harmful impact on the
school climate. This presentation in the ASO will look at the various
ways that schools might respond to address these concerns.

* Library of Congress Learning Page Chat ­ Her Story
5:00-6:00pm PST
How often do we hear America's story told from a woman's perspective or
see it written in a woman's hand? What contributions have women made to
the shaping of our country and our culture? Join us in the ASO to
explore "Her Story" through primary sources from The Library of Congress.

* Alt/Correctional Ed Forum - Arts in Corrections
6:00-7:00pm PST
The Alternative/Correctional Education Forum is a discussion group that
explores the professional development opportunities available to
educators who teach in K-12 alternative schools or correctional
facilities. If you are looking for Arts resources for your
Alt/Correctional Ed classroom or have a resource to contribute, please
join this discussion in the ASO.
