Subject: Online chat with an archaeologist - Nov. 19
 
If any of your classes are currently studying archaeology or Native
Americans, you may be interested in a live chat coming up that is
sponsored by Scholastic and Earthwatch.  Karl Laumbach, a New Mexico
archaeologist, will be interviewed live from 1-2 PM on November 19th.
You'll find more information and your students can submit questions
ahead of time at

The links on that page will lead you to information about Karl's
Prehistoric Pueblos excavation in New Mexico.  There are field
reports (which I was lucky enough to get to write a couple years ago)
that will give your kids some idea of what goes on at an archaeology
dig and may help them generate some questions about what has been
found and learned at the site since then.
