Salute to Black History Month: The Drinking Gourd
Webcast for Grades K-12
NASA Quest highlights the archive of a former project based on thesong "Follow
the Drinking Gourd."
Included are elementary,middle and high school lessons on how the North Star,
Polaris, was usedto guide slaves to freedom.

Challenge: Personal Satellite Assistant (PSA)
Add the Micro to Gravity! NASA challenges you to simulatemicrogravity on Earth.
Webcast for Grades K-12
Dates: February through April 2004
Classrooms are being challenged to design a way to test the PersonalSatellite
Assistant (PSA) on Earth to make sure that it will work once itis on the ISS
where there is microgravity. During this process, studentswill explore the
engineering design process, including a peer review forrefining their designs.
NASA engineers and scientists will be on hand tohelp to guide the process.
