JSC SPONSORS ENGINEERING CAREER EXPO FOR AREA MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Johnson Space Center?s Education and Student Programs Office is hosting the
second annual Engineering Career Expo from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, at
Space Center Houston.
The event will provide a forum where 8th- through 12th-grade students can
learn more about careers in engineering what they should be studying in
high school, what it takes to get into college, which colleges offer
degrees in engineering, what kinds of work-study programs are available and
what employers are looking for after they graduate and more.
NASA engineers and cooperative education students, along with
representatives from private industry and universities with colleges of
engineering, will provide literature, exhibits and demonstrations, and be
available to answer students? questions.
The event is co-sponsored by JSC, Space Center Houston and Aerospace
Academy for Engineering and Teacher Education.
Confirmed participants include the University of Texas, Texas A&M, Texas
Tech, Prairie View A&M, the University of North Texas, LeTourneau
University, Baylor, Purdue, Cornell, Georgia Tech, the Texas Aerospace
Academy, Boeing, United Space Alliance, Lockheed Martin, Wyle Labs, GHG
Corporation, Honeywell, Barrios, MRI Technologies and Titan Systems
Corporations.
Parents, students, teachers and guidance counselors are invited to attend.
No advance registration is required. The event is free.
