From: Amanda Rondeau <amanda@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

The Minnesota Orchestra presents Virtual Tour Europe 2004, an online
opportunity to follow the Orchestra and Music Director Osmo Vänskä on their
a three-week European Tour February 9-26. Virtual Tour Europe 2004 is the
fourth online travel experience the Minnesota Orchestra has offered in
collaboration with interactive educational partner Mighty Media. Once again
created especially for students, the Virtual Tour features online curriculum
that has been designed to engage teachers and upper elementary school
students in a wide range of activities corresponding with the European
Tour?including insights into music, language, history, geography, and other
cultural information.

Virtual Tour curriculum includes daily activities designed for students in
grades four through six, introducing them to the Minnesota Orchestra and the
European countries scheduled on tour?Austria, Germany, England, Scotland,
and Finland. Students will read updates from the road, view photo albums and
watch video footage of the Orchestra. In depth explorations of local heroes,
national symbols, and the European Union are included in lessons. A popular
interactive element in previous virtual tours, students can ask questions of
any of the fifteen designated ?tour guides? and receive answers via posted
online video.

The site will be up long after the Orchestra's physical tour is over. In
fact, you can visit two of the previous tours as well by visiting this link:

I hope some of you enjoy the site and find it useful with your students.
