Subject: May 18 Big6 Session on Tapped In

Hi Big6 colleagues,
You're invited to participate in the next Big6 session at Tapped In
(specifics below). This session will be dedicated to the connection
between 21st Century Skills (sometimes called ICT Literacy) and student
achievement. The Big6 provides a bridge that can help move every child
ahead, for school, life and work. Please join us!

As preparation, you may want to take a look at the archived webcasts
we've recently done on the ICT Literacy site (requires free registration):
http://home.learningtimes.net/ictliteracy?go=416356

Webcast Archive: ICT Literacy For All, Essential 21st Century Learning
Strategies

Technology for Learning", Dr. David Thornburg, Director of the
Thornburg Center and Senior Fellow of the Congressional Institute for
the Future, Ellen Nelson, CEO of Decision Development Corporation, the
Partnership for 21st Century Skills, and participants from around the
globe, discussing 21st Century ICT learning strategies.

Strategies
This is a second in our series of "ICT Literacy for All" programs
featuring Ferdi Serim, author of "Information Technology for Learning;"
Kathleen H. McClaskey, President of EdTech Associates; and members of
the Thornburg Center. The Thornburg Center is composed of pragmatic
visionaries who are leaders in transforming education to support
learners. Webcast participants were guided to explore the creative uses
of technology in support of educational climates that prepare students for the
future.

Webcast Archive: "Research Guidance for ICT Literacy"

"Research Guidance for ICT Literacy" - is the third in our series of
the ICT Literacy for All discussions. This webcast was coordinated by
Ferdi Serim and Kathleen McClaskey, and featured an interactive
discussion with John Cradler, President of Educational Support Systems,
an experienced leader in the field and a member PT3 national advisory

* The Big6 - Moving Every Child Ahead
6:00-7:00pm PDT
Moving Every Child Ahead - an alternative approach to the goals of No
Child Left Behind. Improved student achievement requires improved
classroom practice, but where is the research to guide us? Can we build
a community of "studied interventions" where groups of educators share
the evidence they generate through their daily actions with kids? Join
Ferdi Serim in the Arcade Conference Room as he leads a discussion
shaped by the Big6 process on how we might take an active, creative
role in meeting the challenges.
