Hi Everyone-

This AM I was reading my mail and found a page of  EASY holiday
decorations from Jan Brett. They involve the use of scissors, paper, crayons
and maybe a stapler. They are at:

I plan to set out the simple instructions and supplies for my kids to use
after they've selected books. Then I can use the decorations right away on a
tree in the library. A few years ago we had a Chinese immigrant student who did
origami in class the way other students would doodle. He created several
ornaments for a tree and inspired a whole grade of kids to learn origami.
Unfortunately he's moved onto middle school and my "multicultural holiday tree"
(used to showcase his handiwork) is bare. Hopefully we can fill it
again this week.
