The week of March 15-20, 2004 is the time frame for two highly
anticipated educational opportunities:

-March 15-20: Celebrating Excellence in Science, Technology &
Mathematics Education (ESTME) Week. Events and activities around the
country will be centered on the theme: How will you make a
difference? Question... Explore... and Discover!

-March 19: Sun-Earth Day

Sun-Earth Day 2004 has selected the transit of Venus as this year's
theme. June 8 will mark the first time since 1882 that the silhouette
of Venus has crossed the surface of the Sun, and Sun-Earth Day events
are planned to highlight this rare celestial occurrence.

NASA's Sun-Earth Education Forum is providing an exciting array of
resources from which to choose to celebrate the transit. Select from
live interactive discussions with NASA scientists, classroom math,
geometry, reading and science activities, museum and planetarium
events, free classroom materials, a real-time webcast on June 8 of
the entire transit, online archives of transit images taken by
amateur and professional telescopes from across the globe, and much,
much more.
