Dear Educational Leader,
We are pleased to bring you this NECC 2003 update with information on:

Registration
Our conference Web site at <http://www.iste.org/necc> will be updated
regularly over the next five months as details become available, so be sure
to visit the site often!
Announcing Keynotes
Be inspired! Our featured keynote, Dr. Mae Jemison, is a fierce advocate
for education and a leader of global achievements. The first African
American woman in space, she is also an inventor, medical doctor, Peace
Corps veteran, university professor, and founder of two technology
companies. She also directed the Jemison Institute for Advancing Technology
in Developing Countries at Dartmouth College and founded The Earth We
Share(tm), a science camp where students from around the world gather to
solve global dilemmas. Don't miss this dynamic innovator, a true
international hero!
Dr. Jemison's Keynote will be held on Sunday evening at the Seattle Center,
5:45-7:00 pm, to be followed immediately by the Opening Reception.
Conference veterans will notice that this is a departure from our usual
scheduling -- be sure to keep this in mind when making your travel plans.
On Tuesday morning you can "Choose Your Own" Keynote at the convention
center from amongst Alan Kay, Don Knezek, and Janette Racicot.
Allison Rossett will provide the Luncheon Keynote address on Wednesday,
July 2, from 11:45 am-1:15 pm, also at the convention center. Seating at
the luncheon is limited to 1,000, includes a plated meal, and requires
advance ticket purchase.

to make your reservations online at <http://www.iste.org/necc>. In
addition to the nationally-known hotel chains, Seattle has a number of
charming locally-owned hotels for your consideration. Photos of most hotels
are available on our site, so you can view the rooms and make your
reservations with confidence. If you are a member of an ISTE affiliate,
check our drop-down menu of special groups to see if your group has a
special housing block already set aside.
Rooms may come available on a case-by-case basis depending on cancellations
and individual arrival/departure adjustments. Inventory is not maintained
by the NECC Housing Bureau -- so if you are interested in booking a room
online at a hotel that does not show availability at the time you try, keep
trying!
