Portsmouth, a city in Appalachian Ohio -- are counting on their
fledgling game-design programs to give local students a chance

In response to recent losses of backup tapes, and encryption
devices developed by NetApp's Decru, NeoScale and DisUK, the LTO
Consortium has added encryption to its LTO 4 tape drive
specification. The drives write encrypted data to Ultrium tape
cartridges, and decrypt data when the correct key is used.
Encryption is a "totally new aspect of a tape format" which,
until recently, has only addressed how bytes are stored on tape.
