Subject: Doors to Diplomacy
The following is information we were asked to pass along to MSP state
contacts.
Doors to Diplomacy (State/Global SchoolNet Foundation collaboration) contest:
Students design a web project that best educates others about the value of
international affairs and diplomacy.
Teams are comprised of two to four students and up to two adult coaches.
The categories for Doors to Diplomacy 2005 are: Leadership Traits; Peace and
Democracy: Social Issues; Business, Trade and Economics; Science and
Technology; Safety and Security; History of Foreign Relations; Health and
Environmental Awareness; and Arts and Culture.
Each student member of the team that wins receives a $2,000 scholarship and
the winning coaches' schools each receive $500 cash award. The winning teams
also get a trip to DC sponsored by the State Department, a private tour of
the State Department, meet with key officials and they participate in an
award presentation ceremony.
Students can register NOW.
Registration is opened until Monday, February 28, 2005
(11:59 P.M. UTC-8 U.S. Pacific)
o March 20, 2005: Projects and narrative due
o April 16, 2005: Peer Reviews due
o May 2005: Winners announced
