Falls Trainer Presents at NFL Combine

James Starks isnt the only one representing Niagara Falls at this weeks
NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
Tony Surace, the athletic trainer for Niagara Falls High School, was there
Tuesday to give a four-hour presentation to medical staffs from all 32 NFL
teams.
The workshop, called In 2Min or Less!, focuses on the management of
on-field emergencies. It was developed by Michael Cendoma, president of
Sports Medicine Concepts.
Its basically the pre-hospital care needed after a spinal injury occurs on
the field, Surace said. What it takes to get an athlete ready for the
ambulance, the management of the equipment, concentrating on football, to
not exacerbate the injury and how to take care of the athlete once they
get to the emergency room.

Cendoma said the opportunity to present at the NFL Combine came about from
contacts in the National Athletic Trainers Association.
