piece about the weekend blending arts with Green Chem, so there'll
be something in the Journal, which is good with the conference 
coming up.

Where has your mother been staying?  Is she OK?
Has she been in  a shelter or with you?  
Have you been able to get your own place back in order yet?  
The irony that you are off to deal with Katrina!!

Ignore all my questions.  It sounds as though you have enough 
to do without chatting with me online.

Dear Judith,
Apologies for missing May 15 journal deadline...Home flooded in 
Wakefield (we received almost a foot of rain, more than Peabody!) and 
mother living 2 miles away in Melrose is still under evacuation 
orders...Today (Friday) is my first day back in the office.  Ironically, 
I will be leaving on Sunday with the UML Katrina clean-up team for a 
week.  Should I just skip the column for this issue, or can you extend 
the deadline?
