I believe that the two articles listed below are worth reading in the 
consideration of current issues in science education.

"Are We Fixing the Wrong Things?" is by Yong Zhao of Michigan STate University 
and appreared in the May 2006 issue of Educational Leadership.  "Quality 
Science Teachers: Essential to America's Future" is by Linda Froschauer, the 
current president of NSTA, and appeared in the September 2006 issue of The 
Science Teacher.
