Each summer the National Science Foundation's Materials Research Science and
Engineering Center at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst sponsors a
flexible 6-8 week Research Experience for Teachers program. This year we are
able to support 8, K-12 teachers with a stipend of $1,000/wk, 6 graduate
credits and 135 pdps. The details are included in the attachment and the
application process is easy. No previous research experience is required. All
K-12 teachers are eligible. We have worked with elementary, middle and high
school teachers. All that is required is that you are currently teaching and
will return again to teaching next fall. It is a great way to enhance your
education and excite your students.
