The New England Association of Chemistry Teachers is holding it's 73rd
Summer Conference from August 6 - 9, 2012 at Bridgewater State University in
Bridgewater, Massachusetts. This year's theme is "Advances in Green
Chemistry" . Several speakers and workshops have already been scheduled.
Lab-Aids and WH Freeman Publishers will set up their wares and others may
join them. The Annual Banquet will be held on Wednesday evening and all are
invited. PDPs and Continuing Education Credits will be available for
teachers.

In the evenings all will have a special access to the Bridgewater
Observatory and to view the stars and planets, weather permitting. You can
also expect the usual warm hospitality and engaging conversations that have
become an important part of these gatherings.

Bridgewater State is the site of a new state- of- the- art science facility
that opened this past September. Ed Brush, the Chemistry Department Chair,
is working with NEACT to make this a truly memorable experience.

The projected participant costs at this time include: full participation (
program, room and board) - $400 or less, commuters (program only) about
$150 or a daily attendance fee for one day or more. Financial Aid awards
will be available to the participants who qualify and will be determined by
the number of applicants.

If are interested in leading a workshop on a "green" topic or any topic of
interest to you, or if you have a speaker in mind that we should contact,
please pass along that information to our program chair, NEACT President
-Elect, Mary Christian-Madden at mcm1968@xxxxxxxxxxxx
