Sad news: Bette Bridges¹ husband, Ken Brody, has sadly passed away.
We¹ll do our own NEACT obituary and tribute to him, I¹m sure, but for now, I
just did find an obit from the Boston Globe, which says that there is a
service in Sharon, MA on Monday. I hope to be able to go to that if I can,
and hope that we can achieve some NEACT representation in honor of his many
contributions to our Association and New England¹s chem teachers.
Bette and Ken have been NEACT champions for decades. Ken headed up the
Industrial Associates for a very long time, and I¹m sure via his contacts,
helped many to attend the Summer Conference on scholarship.

BRODY, Kenneth W. On Thursday, October 6, 2016, of Stoughton, formerly of
Sharon and Milton. Beloved husband of Bette Bridges and the late Marlene I.
(Brodie). Loving father of Laura Copel & her husband Matthew of NY, Nancy
Demmer & her husband Steven of Rochester, Jonathan Brody & his wife Nancy of
Foxborough, and the late Karen Sattin. Cherished grandfather of Samuel,
David, Daniel, Ilana, Sarah, Rachel and Emily and great-grandfather of
Kaydence and Rebekkah. Dear brother of Eliot Brody and the late Sumner
Brody. Uncle of many loving nieces and nephews. Former pharmacist at Brody
Apothecary in Needham and Childrens Hospital of Boston. He was a chemistry
teacher for 30 years at the John D. O'Bryant School of Science & Technology
in Boston. Services at Temple Sinai of Sharon, 25 Canton St., Sharon, on
Monday, October 10 at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
Following the burial family and friends are invited back to Temple Sinai
until 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dana-Farber
Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
