Green STEM Institute

Save the Dates: October 26-27

Saturday Workshops will be held at

Framingham State College

The Massachusetts Association of Science Teachers (MAST) is pleased to
announce an exciting new professional development opportunity this fall for
Massachusetts' teachers in science, technology, engineering, and math
(STEM). This institute is for a limited group of educators interested in
learning more about "green" topics and "green" careers for their students.

The Green STEM Institute will occur over two days: Friday October 26 and

Saturday October 27. Friday will be devoted strictly to regional tour
packages specializing in green architecture and industry. Saturday will
focus on roundtable discussions about the Friday tours, and content
workshops on possible topics such as model solar cars, wind energy, green
architecture, and global climate change. K-12 teachers will receive plenty
of handouts, games and activities for classroom use, and 10 PDPs for
completing both days.

The minimal ($55) fee for this two-day Institute also covers membership in
MAST for future networking, breakfast, snack and lunch on Saturday. (For
those teachers who are unable to leave their classrooms, a Sat. only
registration will be possible so that they may benefit from the content
workshops for a $45 fee, which includes lunch.)

Tours are very limited in number, are first come/ first served and will be
posted on the MAST web site at [ http://www.mast.nu ] about September 1st.
