KITES AND ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING
The Blue Hill Observatory and the Museum of Science present a two
day workshop for science teachers in grades 7-12. Teachers will
be introduced to kites and aerial photography, and Digital Earth
Watch. You will learn how to build your own kite and see a range
of completed classroom kite projects. You will also learn about
remote control systems for taking still and video images from a
kite.
Digital Earth Watch is a program that has created a toolkit for
integrating digital imagery and image analysis into their
curriculum. Teachers will receive a $200 stipend and materials to
integrate what they learn into their classrooms. The program is
Thursday July 24 and Friday July 25 from 8:30 to 4 each day.
