Are you a K-8 teacher, or do you know a K-8 teacher who would like to spend
a day learning about force & motion or light & sound? The Maine Mathematics
and Science Alliance is pleased to announce that nationally-known educator
Bill Robertson will be conducting two workshops:
Understanding Force & Motion So You Can Teach It for Grades K-8; November
12, 2008, Marriott Sable Oaks, South Portland ME.
Understanding Light & Sound So You Can Teach It for Grades K-8; November 13,
2008, Marriott Sable Oaks, South Portland ME.
The goal of the workshops is to gain a deeper understanding of science
concepts. While many of the activities will translate into the classroom,
the primary purpose is supporting teacher learning.
Bill Robertson is the author of NSTA's award-winning book series, *Stop
Faking It! Finally Understanding Science So You Can Teach It*. He performs
teacher workshops across the country, and writes a monthly column, Science
101 for the journal Science and Children. Bill promises to make our
learning fun!
The registration fee of $95 includes workshop materials, breakfast, lunch,
and a resource book. For complete information or to register for one of the
workshops, visit www.mmsa.org/events
Please share this information with K-8 teachers in your district.
