Job summary: Provide for a safe lab environment by assisting teachers and 
students during laboratory sessions in Chemistry, Biology & Earth Science; 
assist students with greenhouse activities (watering plants, potting etc.); 
preparation / set up of laboratory materials for student/teacher use, including 
mixing solutions; maintain the Chemical Inventory; perform housekeeping duties 
necessary for proper lab functioning (wash glassware, clean up from labs, 
oversee proper storage of materials) and other duties that may be assigned 



Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a science area preferably with a strong 
background in Chemistry; prior laboratory work experience and experience 
working in a secondary school setting 



Terms of Employment: Beginning mid-January 2009; 10-month position following 
student calendar, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. daily. $15.67 
per hour in accordance with and subject to all provisions of the negotiated 
agreement between the Berlin Board of Education and Local 1303-276 of Council 4 
AFSCME, AFL-CIO
