[ncsc-moths] Re: Thanks to all who attended the workshop

Thanks to Merrill, Brian, Lori, Bo, and Parker for a wonderful moth program
and mothing experience. We had multiple sheets hanging around the huge
wrap-around deck at the park's visitor center. Saw a nice variety of moths
- still working my photos, but conservatively, I'll end up with about 30
lifers.

And I agree it was nice to finally put faces to names (Kyle, Cecilia,
Brian, Paul S.) and spending time with older friends - Bob Perkins :)

And to top it all off, the Great Tiger made an appearance!

I heard something about Hanging Rock State Park for next year. They have
cabins! Regardless of where it is, I'll definitely be there. I also like
the idea for Coastal Plains or Piedmont habitat for the next Moth Day (and
sooner here hopefully).

Found myself with a group of early risers. By the time we were getting
lots of action at all the sheets, it was bedtime. Could have stayed much
longer.

Merrill set out the pheromone trap during a break from the course, and a
couple hours later, there were several 2583 – Synanthedon exitiosa –
Peachtree Borers in the trap!

I've separated all the pics - now the ID process continues!

Found another 6236 – Habrosyne gloriosa – Glorious Habrosyne Moth when
returning home last night. Photo attached. This is a specialist moth,
utilizing Ninebark (a riparian shrub) and I'm lucky to have seen it twice.

Thanks everyone again.

Jackie
