Someone asked me if I had looked at my house from satellite pics - I had
to admit I hadn't, except for google maps.
I had been meaning to get google earth working anyway, so I fired it up
on my (still) main system, the AMD 2400 Debian. It said it wouldn't run
due to unidentified graphics card (no driver loaded.) I have been down
that road a few times, so I stopped right there and switched over to the
monster.
I loaded it up on the host OS, Ubuntu-64. It crashes immediately - I
think it doesn't do 64. But the interesting part was installation time -
on the 2400, it took maybe 30 seconds to install. On the monster, maybe
5 seconds. Too bad it doesn't run.
On to the Ubuntu 32 virtual machine. Install time, 10 seconds. This time
it said, "running in OpenGL mode, it will be slow." But it works.//
