Followed the below directions and her is the output of the last command:

$ sudo apt-get install linux-headers-generic linux-image-generic
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
linux-headers-generic is already the newest version.
linux-image-generic is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 15 not upgraded.
W: Duplicate sources.list entry http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/ maverick/partner amd64 Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/archive.canonical.com_ubuntu_dists_maverick_partner_binary-amd64_Packages) W: Duplicate sources.list entry http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian/ maverick/contrib amd64 Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/download.virtualbox.org_virtualbox_debian_dists_maverick_contrib_binary-amd64_Packages) W: Duplicate sources.list entry http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian/ maverick/contrib amd64 Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/download.virtualbox.org_virtualbox_debian_dists_maverick_contrib_binary-amd64_Packages)

I remember doing this once before but not both headers and image in the same cmd line. I think it was similar results.

I'm about to give up on this and load from scratch but this is a dual boot machine.
