Henri, thanks so much for putting up a first mveg-9 site mock-up.
History is being written within these bitstreams! and we're now ready
to roll the Huffman Drums, activate the 4th fold of our hats and start
discussing the first item in our mveg-9 todo list, that is, the mveg-9
website.
I remind here the general guidelines of mveg-9 site:
- the groovy portal site about what's new in the mac & video universe
- the single place where all the OSX & video docs, guides, links and
stuff will exist
- the ultimate Mac & Video resource and software catalyzer contributed
from MVEG-9 members
- the place where OSX video software leadership began
- the community site where gorillas looks like Steve Jobs and not the
opposite (this has of course many other implications).
I compiled below an itemized, numbered and double bulleted digest of
all previous suggestions.
Could you please fellow mveg-9 members send an email addressing the
present subject. You could help with one or more of the following:
- add new numbered ideas to the list or explain why an item should be
removed
- add comments to existing items like i'm doing here
- propose your contribution to deal with any specific item
- provide with moral support, unlimited wisdom, and ham sandwiches.

?1? Henri suggested to implement a Postnuke portal with a nice
back-office
page
major: (good one, Henri! groovy!)
?2? PowermacG4 said it should be inspired from http://macstorm.net/ and
http://everwicked.com/ and have a metallized interface
major: (I like the metallized template, Henri! though the logo is
kinda Barnum Circus, but we could update it later, let's focus on site
contents right now. We could benchmark with other sites and list good
ideas for contents).
?3? I said there should be regular columns like "NEWS FROM THE LORD"
or, the dude who could even compile a brick
major: (lordrpi was OK with that, and all other members, which column
would you like for yourself?).
?4? Interviews would be groovy: possibly introduced by a curvy swedish
girl, like "Which parallel universe Lukifer has entered this month?",
or "The author of TMPGEnc decides to drop PC platform and only develop
on OSX", etc.
major: (ahem, I'll find the swedish girl, you'll be glad I'm taking
the most difficult task).
?5? Most said there should be a forum.
major: (Could we use the same forum software as vcdhelp? I guess it's
the same makira and mobodo use for the mediapipe forum).
?6? Members would have special avatars.
major: (OK, easy)
?7? We should need a graphic genius like the guy who did
http://mixthepix.com/.
major: (I'll try to find one).
?8? We need writers
major: (I'll try to find one)
?9? We need an host.
major: (hm, big issue)
?10? Different levels of documentation (dummies to advanced)
?11? A collection of source code (like www.doom9.org), when legal
?12? No banners (If possible..)
?13? Swedish girls
?14? Possibility for the users to comment articles
?15? A paper version, 2 times a year, starting in 5 years - perhaps not.
Your turn now :-)
Cya!
