[muglo] Re: video conferencing

Hi, I realise that you're not interested in voice chat but...
<http://www.skype.com/> seems like it's a good cross-platform solution.

Video conferencing:

str=3Dvideo+conferencing&plt%5B%5D=3Dmacosx&x=3D0&y=3D0>

iVisit may fill your needs. I'm not sure whether it supports the
internal iMac video cam (though, you mentioned that you had a USB
video cam as well). I played with it for audio chat two years ago, and
even then it was good enough to connect via regular 56K dialup (audio
only).

PS If you're interested in finding a good high speed internet service
provider, just ask in this forum. I'm sure many people can relate
stories about various ISPs to you.

Bell: start with <http://www.bell.ca/shop/PrsShpInt_Landing.page>
Product=09Speed=09X times faster than Dial-up
High Speed Ultra=09up to 5000 Kbps=0990
High Speed=09up to 3000 Kbps=0952
Basic=09256 Kbps=095
Basic Lite=09128 Kbps=092
Dial-up=0956 Kbps=09N/A

Basic Lite =3D $20, Basic =3D $30, High Speed =3D $40.

I suspect Basic Lite isn't fast enough for video conferencing, and
Basic itself may not be enough bandwidth either (though, I suspect it
is, just barely). You can usually get a deal with regular High Speed.
Often they'll give you 3 or 5 months free (without 12 month contract)
followed by regular price. They recently offered me $35/mo if I'd sign
a 12 mo contract.

Eric.
