$65 per month. That's ultra ultra high speed ADSL!!! $40/month is
normal for premium service (Bell) and you should be able to get $33 if
you shop around (all this before tax).

Modems can be bought on eBay for $20. I picked one up for $8 + $12 shipping=
!

As for software, there are many (free) video conferencing apps that
have both a Mac and PC client. Usually the Mac client is inferior (we
have only a tiny market share after all) but they'll talk to each
other!

Skype might be worth checking out for audio chat. Don't know if the do
video yet!

Go to www.versiontracker.com and search for "video conferencing" or
"video chat" and see what you get!
