Just as an FYI:

In this case the difference is Intel vs. PowerPC. Disks for one CPU
type will not work for the other CPU type. There might be a
model-specific tie-in for PPC Mac mini vs. PPC iMac, and likewise for
Intel Mac mini vs. Intel iMac.
