The file iTunes Library is only a directory. You trashed the
directory, so iTunes now doesn't know anything about the songs, or
where they are. Presumably, they are in the backup still. Correct?
if my reading is correct here, you need to restore the files from the
backup
If you want to clear up some hard drive - or as you say 'clear up the
memory from your desktop', you'll need to store the music files on
another hard drive. Not your backup drive. Not your main drive.
Put an alias of the restored iTunes Library in the place where iTunes
expects the document to be, and iTunes will find the file at the new
location.
