[muglo] strange Eudora X behaviour

I just installed Eudora for X, version 5.2. It was using my settings 
from OS9's 4.3 folder. Long story short, I copied the old eudora 
folder onto my X hard drive, and deleted the orig one in OS9 HD. Then 
when I opened Eudora for X, it opens like I dont have any prefs set. 
But when I double click the backup settings file, it opens on my 
usual settings. Thing is, everything I have tried to make it see 
those old settings as the real ones, doesnt work. Does anyone know 
how to make Eudora recognize these settings on open? Now I have to 
either open Eudora and then open my settings file, or, I have to open 
the settings file which forces Eudora open. Works, but it's annoying.
