Jim,
Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Probably the best
thing you could do for your G4 is to upgrade it to Tiger (10.4) by
doing a clean install.... back up ALL your personal files (photos,
music, documents, fonts, etc), and just do a complete reformat and
install OS X. Of course, you'd want to make a list of all the
applications you use (really USE, and not just have on the computer
but rarely if ever open them) and be sure that they are OS X friendly
or that there is an OS X alternative to them that would suit your needs.
