[muglo] reverse sync

Thanks, Scott, Doug and Chris, for the suggestions. Having received
Scott's first, I tried it and downloaded iPod Viewer. It appeared to
work fine, and very intuitively, but unluckily it was just a shade too
slow to avoid being overtaken by iTunes, which launched (as usual)
instantly as soon as I connected the iPod. I forced it to Quit, but as
it did so an alert popped up saying an update was available for iTunes
and asking if I wanted to download it. I said yes. Big mistake. The
update downloaded, self-installed, and once again iTunes opened. This
time, it detected the fact that there were purchased tunes on the iPod
that weren't on the computer and asked if I wanted to transfer them. It
said "transfer" not "copy", which I suspect is what was meant, but I
wasn't confident about that, so I said no, intending to Quit the
program again and do the reverse sync with iPod Viewer. No such luck;
iTunes' response was to delete the tunes in questions from the iPod
too, instantly.
I'll know better next time. But it looks to me as if this latest update
of iTunes is addressing the former shortcoming of not allowing reverse
syncing. If so, it may eliminate the need for iPod Viewer, Senuti,
Tinker Tool and other such aids.
Whaddaya think?
