If you really need a separate programme, then I agree with Gerhard
that Photoshop Elements is a better choice for about $150, or less;
Photoshop is many, many hundreds more; but unless the photos are
really bad & need a lot of work iPhoto 6 will do most of what
Elements does.
Double click on any photo in an Album and a new screen appears with a
small icon in the bottom right called "adjust". You can adjust
Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Tint etc.
I have just finished scanning about 200 50-60 year old slides &
iphoto worked for most of them.
