well..... the error is that the installer can't continue because there
is a folder named Apple Extras on the drive. There never has been such
a folder . anyway. I managed to get some elements off my OS9 install CD
which may have been related to the DNS problem -- the networking parts.
Then the 9.2.2 update did indeed run, despite there being a newly
installed Apple Extras Folder, over the 9.2.2 active operating system.
The DNS problem however remains. Other computers can mount across the
network, though the G3 remains unable to contact the internet.
There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in.
