Outlook Express is a 100% stand-alone programme. It has *nothing* to do with Explorer except that they're both made by M$ (and were probably written by the same programming team). I used to swear by Eudora Light 3.1 but have been using OE nearly exclusively for the past 2 years since OE has easy to use multiple e-mail account management, and, unlike Eudora Pro mode in 5.1 isn't adware or commercial.
